Capital of Kenya

The capital of Kenya is the city of Nairobi which is also nicknamed ‘Green City in the Sun’. The city of Nairobi is also designated with the title ‘safari capital of Africa’. The growth of Nairobi as the capital of Kenya is only a century old affair. The construction of the railway lines was behind the transformation of Nairobi from the land of swamps to a modern city. The city of Nairobi which is a home to around four million people is one of the largest cities in Africa. The capital of Kenya, Nairobi is also its administrative headquarter. The vibrant, colorful and pulsating city of Nairobi also attracts tourists apart from just serving as the threshold to the African wilderness.

Nairobi has been the capital of Kenya since the days of the British rule over the country. Even now the significance of the city has not diminished. Nairobi has great contrasts incorporated into it as the tribal cultures come in close contact to the modern life style of any big city of the 21st century. The most unique thing about the capital of Kenya is that the city has the presence of wildlife like, cheetah, lion and rhinos just twenty minutes away from it. One of the biggest international airports of Kenya is located in Nairobi called the ‘Jomo Kenyatta International Airport’. The city is also well connected by road and railways. The places of attraction in the capital of Kenya are the Snake Park, Kenya National Museum and National archives. So before venturing out in the wild adventure don’t forget to get a glimpse of the city’s history in these places.
