University of Utah is a public university located in Salt Lake City, Utah. It is a part of the Utah System of Higher Education. Established on February 28, 1850, it is the oldest university in the state. It was established as the University of Deseret by the General Assembly of the provisional State of Deseret. It is a coeducational research university and has an endowment of US $513.4 million. It was shifted to its current location in 1900. It enrolls approximately 30,000 students and offers more than 100 undergraduate and 90 graduate degree programs. The campus covers an area of 1,534 acres of land and includes the Health Sciences complex, Fort Douglas, and Research Park.
