Industries are the backbone of the economy in the country. Most of the industries in the country are manufacturing industries. Heavy Engineering industries are also prominent in the country.
Industries also deal with automobile engineering, ship building, electronic engineering, electrical engineering, plant machinery, aircraft manufacturing and other industries. Apart from Ruhr, the other prominent industrial areas in the country are located at Bavaria, Dresden, Bremen and Hamburg. Some of the most famous cars, namely Volkswagen, BMW and Mercedes-Benz belong to German car industry. Newer technologies and methods are being implemented in the various industries of Germany to enhance the quality as well as quantity of the cars produced.
The chemical industry in the country is also one of the most important industries. Several well-renowned chemical companies are German in origin, namely BASF, Bayer and many more. Most of the energy resources and raw materials for the German industries are imported, though the country has small amounts of natural resources. The country also exports large amounts of motor vehicles, heavy engineering articles, electrical engineering products and several other forms of machinery to various countries of the world.
