The Gibraltar Stock Exchange came into the scenario from the year of 2006. In short, this is known as the GibeEX. The Stock Exchange of Gibraltar is known to be the only existing stock exchange within the territory of Gibraltar.

It was early in the 1990s that a plan was made in setting up a Stock Exchange in Gibraltar for the first time. But during that period of time, this could not be implemented. It was solely due to the lack of support from the government side of Gibraltar. The government at that time wanted a low cost set up in the building.

The Gibraltar Stock Exchange has become operational from the month of May in 2007. This has got the technical assistance from the Vienna Stock Exchange as well as the Bank Medici. The Stock Exchange at Gibraltar is highly important for those who want to get a beneficiary out of the tax incentives in Gibraltar.

A major partner of the Gibraltar Stock Exchange is Van der Moolen NV which is known to be the fourth largest liquidity provider on the New York Stock Exchange. A board of directors looks after the policies and programs of the Stock exchange in Gibraltar.
