Bulgaria location can be clearly understood from its latitudinal and longitudinal coordinates. The country covers an area of 110,910 square kilometers and borders the Black Sea. Slightly larger than the American state of Tennessee, Bulgaria is bordered by a number of countries namely Romania, Greece, Turkey, Greece, Serbia, Macedonia and Montenegro which form Bulgaria's western, southern and northern neighbors. All these countries thus play an integral part in determining the location of Bulgaria.
The Danube River runs along the northern border of the country and the Black Sea links Bulgaria to Ukraine, Russia and Georgia. With a coastline of 378 kilometers, Bulgaria holds a considerable area in the European continent. Bulgaria's location is the first and foremost aspect that has to be known to understand the country's geography.
