Preaching religious tolerance and harmony, the Venezuela Religions speak volumes on harmony and brotherhood. This ideology is also supported by the Venezuelan constitutional clauses, which provide the freedom to practice any religion in the country. According to the 2001 government survey, the Venezuela Roman Catholic population constitute 70% of the total population in Venezuela. 29% of the total population comprises Venezuela protestants and the remaining 1% follow other religions or are atheists.
A considerable part of the population in Venezuela constitute of Muslims and Jews. The Indian settlers in Venezuela have the liberty to follow their respective religions. Although the Roman Catholic religious body is considered to be politically neutral, many priests and bishops have taken part in the various political movements and events, preaching the ideals of liberation theology.
