The 2014 Asian Games

The city is preparing itself for one of Asia’s largest sporting event, the 2014 Asian Games. Officially known as the XVII Asiad, the event is governed by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), and is scheduled to take place from 19 September – 4 October 2014. The country has readied around 49 game venues, along with various training facilities for the participants. The Incheon Asiad Main Stadium, the main stadium for the event is reported to have a seating capacity for 61,074 people. Around 439 events in 36 sports and disciplines will be featured in the Asian Games.

The 17th Incheon Asian Games 2014 Organizing Committee has opened its domestic website for ticket sales.

The website is a one-stop-shop for foreigners to book tickets and gather important information as well.

The 2014 Incheon Asian Games website has divided the Opening /Closing Ceremony tickets into five types. The tickets price ranges between 1,000,000 KRW to 100,000 KRW.

The tickets for matches have been categorized by sports and the type of seats, the price of which ranges between 5,000 KRW to 100,000 KRW.

The site also offers discounts for early bookings.

 

Ticket Design

The design of the 2014 Asian Games tickets have the Main Asiad Stadium in the background. The opening tickets have the mascot, Seal Siblings, welcoming the viewers, while on the closing tickets, the mascots bid goodbye.

The match tickets can be differentiated, as they are green in color, signifying the ‘Green’ Asian Games, while the mascot can be seen cheering for the athletes.
