Yawovi Agboyibo is the Togo Prime Minister. Being the head of Togo government, especially after independence, the responsibilities of the Togo Prime Minister has grown immensely. Being a Francophone colony or having been colonized by the French, the country of Togo went through a cultural turmoil.
The French Colonizers had dismantled the cultural roots of Togo by the process of assimilation. The culture of Togo was negated as uncivilized, child like and illogical. The French did their best to assimilate a certain group of native Togolese, who were later called as the middle class or the assimilasios. These assimilasios were the only medium of the French to communicate with the native Togolese, especially when the mass movements had begun in Togo.
While the assimilasios were convincing the people to see the reason behind the French Colonization, they were severing themselves from the roots as well as acting as a medium to do the same in their own country.
Post-independence, it was the onus of the head of the government or the Prime Minister to re-establish the cultural roots and make the people of his country aware of the importance of their deep traditional and indigenous roots.
The Prime Minister of Togo has the responsibility of pacifying the after effects of independence, especially with the growing crime rates, unemployment, malnutrition and the cultural dilemma. The Togo Prime Minister has to create International Relations with the other countries of the world and make them conscious of the cultural diversity of the nation and show them the logic behind their own traditions.
