Samoa Prime Minister







Samoa is a parliamentary representative democratic state where the Prime Minister of the nation is the head of government. The Prime Minister of Samoa is part of the Executive Council of Samoa government and also heads the Cabinet of Ministers.
He is responsible for the selection of the 12 Cabinet Ministers of the Executive Council.

The legislature of the country of Samoa, better known as Fono, is unicameral. The Fono elects the Prime Minister of Samoa. The candidate has to win by majority of the votes of the members of Fono.

The Prime Minister of Samoa administers the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Ministry of the Prime Minister and Cabinet and the Office of the Attorney General.

Tuilaepa Lupesoliai Sailele Malielegaoi, the current Prime Minister of Samoa belongs to the Human Rights Protection Party. He was sworn in as the Samoan Prime Minister on November 23, 1998.
