The Prime Minister of Greece is the leader of the Greek cabinet and the head of government of the Hellenic Republic. He is appointed by the president.

The leader of the political party with the absolute majority of the votes in the Parliament is appointed the Prime Minister. In the case of an absolute majority being impossible, the leader of the largest party is asked to try to organize a government.
