To visit Greece and miss the picturesque sun-bathed Greece Islands will be a sin. Although Greece has much to offer, one of the major tourist attractions had always been the islands. Santorini Island is another renowned island. Santorini derives its name from “strongili” which means circular in Greek. The volcanic eruption that took place centuries ago gave birth to an islet in basin of water surrounded by looming cliffs. Santorini is known for the awesome beaches which are known for their unusual colors. The most famous among them is the red beach which contains red and black volcanic rocks . The startling beaches of Perissa and Kamari have a spread of black sandy beaches. All the beaches are a favorite haunt for the adventure-lovers, because of their taverns, cafes, bars and beach-bars. One can take a flight, or catch a ferry from the ports of Piraeus or Rafina located near Athens . Santorini is known for its vibrant night-life and some of the clubs and discos are located in Fira and Oia. The traditional local architecture is reflected in the hotels, villas and traditional houses. Some of the most beautiful samples are found in Fira, Oia, Firostefani and Immerovigli .

Another major attraction of Greece is the Rhodes Island . It s the largest island in Dodecanese and reminds of the medieval culture of the past. It presents a plethora of impressive archeological ruins, Byzantine churches , interesting Venetian fortresses and the most amazing beaches of the world. Some of the most popular swimming pools are found in the beaches of Rhodes like Afandou and Kalathos . Luxury cruise trips around the island are something not to be missed at any cost.
