Moldova TV

Formerly, there existed three television channels in Moldova, one Russian, one Romanian and the last one was the mix of both the languages. All these Moldova TV channels were not chargeable and were the only channels broadcasted within the country. The Moldova TV channel that was very popular among the natives was the TVM channel from Chisinau. But these Moldova TV stations faced problem when the Russian and Romanian TV stations gained more popularity than the poor Moldovan TV shows.

The economy of these two countries flourished in a short span of time and hence the TV stations located in Buchrest and also in Moscow showed good quality programs. The movies and programs showed on the Moldova TV were inferior to the shows featured by the Russian and Romanian TV stations.

When the National TV management of Moldova asked for advertisements from the different advertisers, none of them agreed to help them. The advertisers were not ready to buy airtime from the Chisinau TV station. The TV stations of the other two countries gained huge advertisements. The people of Moldova easily watched programs on TVR 1 and ORT so there was no need of giving advertisements on the Moldova TV channel.

The Moldova government missed the opportunity of getting a large sum of money. Though the government of Moldova gets money from Russia and Romania but the fund received is very less from the money spent by various private companies on advertisements. These are few TV stations operating in Moldova.
  • Moldova 1 (former TVM)
  • ORT (Russian, Moldovan
  • RTR (Russian),
  • Muz TV (Russian),
  • TVR 1 (Romanian),
  • PRO TV (Romanian, Moldovan )
  • NIT (Moldovan station
  • EURO TV (Moldovan)
  • TV5 (French)
Among other popular programs shown on the Moldova TV, Dragostea din tei is a very successful program. The interview of Ambassador Michael Kirby taken by a television station of Chisinau, D-TV attained immense popularity among the natives of Moldova.
