Lebanon Transport ensures communication and connectivity amongst the various parts of Lebanon as well as with different parts of the world. Out of the total land area of Lebanon, 401 square-kilometers are covered by the railway system. While the narrow gauge railway lines cover approximately 82 square-kilometers, the rest is covered by the standard gauge. However, the entire railway system of Lebanon suffered severe damage because of the war and as a result most of it lies inoperable.
Several buses ply across the length and breadth of the various cities of Lebanon. They are most common form of local transportation by roads. OCFTC is the governmental agency, which controls the various means of public transportation, though a private firm the Lebanese Community Company is giving it some stiff competition in this respect
There are several airlines operating in Lebanon apart from the official airline MEA. While most of these airlines are passenger carriers, only the Trans Mediterranean Airlines is a cargo liner. The Rafic Hariri International Airport is the only airport meant for commercial purposes.
There are four chief harbors and ports in Lebanon namely Chekka, Tripoli, Beirut and Jounieh.
