Iceland Spar

Iceland spar is a kind of gemstone. This gemstone which was previously known as the Iceland Crystal is known as the Iceland Spar. Iceland Spar is nothing but a variation of the mineral calcite. Moreover Iceland Spar has the ability to split images also and for that it is again used in the optical factories. Iceland Spar has another quality in addition. This crystal can help in detecting the right distance of some object that is viewed through it and that is why, Iceland Spar was even used during the World War II in the bomb squad.
