The national flag of Bolivia was adopted on October 31, 1851. The flag is horizontal tricolor of red, yellow and green with the National Coat of Arms in the center.

Known as "The tricolor", the national flag of Bolivia flag consists of three horizontal stripes of equal size. The top stripe is red, the middle is yellow and the bottom stripe is green. In the center of the flag is the National Coat of Arms on a yellow stripe.

The red color stands for the valor and bravery of Bolivian soldiers, green symbolizes fecundity of the terrain and the color of yellow symbolizes Bolivia's mineral resources and wealth.
