Syria is a country where Arabic is mostly used by the entire population. Other languages such as English are not very widely used and are also not understood by the people here. Syrians prefer to stick to their very own language and most of the media circulations such as newspapers, radio, television etc broadcasting is done in Arabic language only.
But with the change of time and environment people are more prone or rather eager to learn English and other languages for their own convenience. Schools here teach English so that the future generations become more aware of the outside world and so that they don't remain confined within their mother tongue only.
