Turkey Earthquake, 2011

At least 2,300 people were disrupted because of this. Many others were left homeless after the tragedy that destroyed about 2,000 buildings and left 4,000 more uninhabitable. Rescue operations are on as the condition is made worse by the onset of winters, which will make it very difficult for survivors to spend time outdoors. Already the rescue and relief operations are being rendered more difficult by the heavy rain and snow.

The province of Van, where the quake was centered, was the hardest hit and is experiencing the most difficulty in getting help.
