One of the famous
Luxembourg lakes is the Upper Sure lake. The largest of the
Luxembourg lakes, that is, the Upper Sure lake is the stretch of water within the Grandy Duchy in the land of Luxembourg. The Upper Sure lake is surrounded by a profuse vegetation that grows among the peaceful creeks.
The Upper Sure lake, among all the other lakes in Luxembourg, is the major center of some of the most exciting water sports in the country. The major water sports events and activities that take place at the Upper Sure lake include canoing, sailing as well as kayaking. There is also a very famous local crafts industry which is growing slowly yet steadily by the bank of the Upper Sure lake. Owing to this industry and the outdoor activities, Upper Sure lake has emerged as a tremendously attractive tourists destination over the years.
There is also a town by the name of Esch-sur-Sure, that nestles at one of the ends of the Luxembourg Lakes. The water current of the Upper Sure lake has helped in the construction of a hydroelectric reservoir. The measurement of this hydroelectric reservoir or dam created right above one of the lakes of Luxembourg is that of six miles up the valley. This Upper Sure dam is a giant source of fulfilling Luxembourg's drinking water demands.
