Location : 49degrees 26.49minutes north and 7 degrees 35.5 minutes east are its co-ordinates.
Reaching there : Ramstein can be reached by road easily from any of Germany's other cities.
Sightseeing locations : Although Ramstein itself being an air force base does not afford any sights whatsoever yet the satellite township of Ramstein-Miesenbach offers sufficient recreational possibilities, by virtue of its being an old Roman town. The cultural and conference center completed in 1986, the Haus des Burgers , serves as a venue for many national and international artists' performance and doubles up as a conference centers at other times. It also houses the city library. In 1750 a city hall was created which now holds the city museum. The "Kurpfalz" Scout Center hosts regular attraction for a huge number of girls and boys from all over Germany. The Seewoog lake provides boating and other lakeside recreations along with the Azur Waterworld pools year round.
Accommodation: the town being a "bedroom" satellite town of the U.S. airbase of Ramstein, about 75% of the working population occupied there, a severe shortage of hotels or other places for temporary residence is noticed. However a few good Serviced Apartments are found here and a few reputed hotels are there in the nearby town of Kaiserslautern or 'K-town' as its known among the U.S Air force officers.
Other Features: From the Roman times to the present days Ramstein-Miesenbach has had a continuous tradition of military background and providing for the creature comforts of the soldiers is part and parcel of its life and has deeply influenced this cantonment town.| More City Maps | |||
