Colombia Weather




Colombia weather is one of the largest factors to influence the growth of tourism in the Latin American nation that too during specific seasons. Mainly the climate of Colombia remains wet and tropical all round the year.
It remains dry for a very short time period and it is during this period that several tourists throng all across the Latin American country.

The weather of Colombia remains dry mainly during the months between December and March and from July to August. This is one of the best seasons to visit Colombia especially if one wishes to try hiking. At Colombia summer is the main rainy season when the country receives large volumes of rainfall.

The climate of Colombia in the east, Pacific and Carribean coastal lowlands is tropical with high temperatures and high humidity all the year round. The average annual rainfall that these lowlands receive is 1000 millimeters. The weather at Colombia in its mountainous regions is comparatively cooler. The climate here depends on the altitude, topography and the existing winds.
Depending on the Colombia weather, people there have decided upon three high seasons as their holiday period. These seasons are between:
  • Mid-June to Mid-July
  • Late December to Mid-January
  • During the Holy Week i.e., between March and April.
The above listed seasons are the seasons when you can enjoy the seas scape beauty of Colombia amidst its rejuvenating weather to the fullest extent. Moreover, the geographical locations of every city and state also influence the weather in Colombia. For eg, Bogota enjoys four climate in a single day i.e., cold night, cool morning, warm afternoon and autumn like evenings thereby making the stay memorable.
