Chile Weather is diverse and is characterized by warm and arid climate in the northern part and extreme cold in the far south of the country. The central part of the country experiences mild Mediterranean climate. As Chile is located in southern hemisphere, winter months are from July to August, while summer months are from December to February. Chile is divided into three climatic zones.
- Southern Chile Weather - Southern Chile is the wetter part of the country. The weather of the region is characterized by cloud and changeable weather. Annual precipitation is estimated around 2,500-5,000 mm. Heavy snowfall can be experienced at the higher mountains of extreme south.
- Northern Chile Weather - Northern Chile is the driest region of Chile. The weather of the place is unique. Even though the place remains rainless through out the year, the weather is cool and relatively cloudy. Fog, low sunshine and frequent drizzle are the characteristics of the coastal strip. The temperatures of the region is little higher.
- Central Chile Whether- The region boasts of a Mediterranean type of climate. Summers is dry and hot and is virtually rainless. Winter months offer changeable whether from moderately wet to mild. Inland areas often experience frost and snow, which is rare on the coastal side.
Because of varied topography, Chile Weather differs from the northern to the southern part of the country.
