Brunei Weather constitutes of the climatic conditions depending on various factors like the geographical location of the country, the surrounding land mass and water bodies and the influence of the winds, etc. Brunei is located on the northern side of Equator at approximately 4 degree N and 114 degree E and falls inside the Equatorial Zone.

The location of the country is the chief reason behind the prevalence of the Equatorial type of climate in Brunei. Brunei weather is predominantly hot and humid. Brunei experiences high temperatures and heavy rainfall throughout the year. The average temperature in Brunei is about 28 degree Celsius and varies little all year round. The amount of rainfall in Brunei differs, ranging from 180mm to 300mm per month.

Various wind systems affect the weather in Brunei. The influence of the following winds dominate Brunei weather conditions:
  • The Seasonal Winds
  • The Diurnal Winds- the land and sea breezes
  • The Local Winds- the anabatic and katabatic winds
  • The North East Monsoon- winds bringing rainfall between the months of December and extending to March.
  • The South West Monsoon- this wind affects the weather of Brunei during the months of May to September.
Brunei weather is affected by the tropical cyclones at certain points of time. But this phenomenon does not occur frequently and is not a regular climatic hazard of the country.
