The Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE) is the public university system of the US state of Pennsylvania. The US state of Pennsylvania also provide funds to the Commonwealth System of Higher Education. It is an organizing body of the four state-related schools in Pennsylvania. The Commonwealth System of Higher Education has four prominent universities: Lincoln University, Pennsylvania State University, Temple University and University of Pittsburgh. University of Pennsylvania
The University of Pennsylvania, also known as Penn or UPenn, is a private research university located in Philadelphia. It is included among the top research institutes in the world. It is one of the eight members of the Ivy League and is the fourth-oldest institution of higher education in the country. It is also one of the Colonial Colleges and is one of fourteen members of the Association of American Universities. It was founded by Benjamin Franklin and was established in 1740. The first school of medicine in North America (University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine 1765), first collegiate business school (Wharton 1881) and the first student union (Houston Hall, 1896) were established in Penn. The university offers a variety of programs and has an annual enrollment of 21,203 students. The annual budget of the university is $814 million.

Community College of Allegheny County
The Community College of Allegheny County is a community college in Pittsburgh. The college offers associate's degrees, certificate and diploma programs. It has four campuses and six centers. It was established in 1966 and is the largest community college in Pennsylvania. It is seventeenth largest community college in United States. It offers more than 170 programs and has an annual enrollment of more than 63,000 students.

Pennsylvania State University
Commonly referred to as PSU, the Pennsylvania State University is a public research university. It was founded in 1855 and is ranked among the top fifteen public universities in the country. It has nineteen Commonwealth campuses and five special-mission campuses. Annual enrollment at the university is 95,833 students. It offers more than 160 major among all its campuses. It is one of the largest universities in the United States. In 2010, Academic Ranking of World Universities ranked Pennsylvania State University 43rd among universities worldwide.

Waynesburg University
Waynesburg University is a private university located in Waynesburg. It offers graduate and undergraduate programs in more than 70 academic concentrations with an annual enrollment of over 2,500 students. It was founded in 1849 by the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. It is a member of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities.
