Peru Beaches

Peru is a country in the western regions of South America. Known chiefly as the seat of the prestigious Inca civilization, Peru has a great number of locations which are of tourist interest. Inca monuments, great traditional cities and towns, locations near the Andes mountain range, or the Atacama desert, or the islands of Lake Titicaca, locations are plenty in Peru. But Peru also has a substantial coastline, and many fantastic beaches, which are also popular with both tourists and locals.

Peru has a great coastline along the South Pacific Ocean, of about 2,600 kilometers. These waters are clear and pristine, and the coastline is dotted with many fantastic and picturesque beaches, where one can indulge in a variety of activities, like swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, surfing, sailing, rowing, fishing, yachting and jet skiing.

There are many great Peru beaches to choose from, notable among them being Punta Sal , Mancora, Las Pocitas, Paita and Huanchaco which are located in the north and northwest coast of Peru. There are many popular beaches around the capital city of Peru, Lima. These include El Silencio , Punta Hermosa, Punta Rocas , Punta Negra, San Bartolo, Santa María and Pucusana. Famous surfing and diving beaches in Peru are the Costa Verde, Herradura and Punta Rocas.

There are a number of beach resorts in Peru, giving tourists the choice to spend their stay on the beach in the most luxurious way possible. Restaurants, sailing clubs, and boats, yachts and diving and surfing equipments are available on hire too.
