The
volcanoes of Yemen are located in various parts of the country. They can be located in the highlands of the Arabian Plateau, near Red Sea, near Gulf of Aden, Zubair Islands and many other places. There has been no volcanic eruption in Yemen for a considerable period of time, despite the presence of so many volcanic mountains.
There are a number of volcanoes at Yemen. The names of some of the
volcanoes of Yemen are listed below:
- Harra of Bal Haf: It is standing at a height of 233 meters and is a volcanic field.
- Zubair: The shield volcano is situated in the Zubair Islands at a height of 191 meters.
- Harra of Arhab: It is a volcanic field in Yemen, which is situated at an elevation of 3100 meters.
- Jabal Hamman Demt: It stands at a height of 1500 meters and is in a shape of cone.
- Hanish: It is situated in the Red Sea between Yemen and Saudi Arabia at a height of 422 meters.
- Bir Borhut: This volcanic field is situated near Gulf of Aden in the Arabian Peninsula.
- Jabal Haylan: It is a volcanic field situated 63 kilometers away from Sana at an altitude of 1550 meters.
- Harra Es-Sawad: This volcanic field is situated at an altitude of 1737 meters.
- Jebel Tair: It is situated at a height of 244 meters. The volcanic cone here is made up of lava, pumice and ash.
- Unnamed: It is a submarine volcano, which is located 60 kilometers south of Adan.
