Lome is the present Togo Capital, which was also the capital of the German Togoland in 1897. Lome is situated in the Gulf of Guinea, to the south western part of Togo.
Significance of Lome as Togo Capital
Lome is one of the most developed parts of country. It has a very well connected internal communication system that has accounted for its popularity as a main trading zone of Togo. Lome is facilitated by a railway system, an international airport and also a port. The railway system of the capital of Togo, Lome consists of three railways, which are situated on the northwestern part of Palome, eastern coast of Aneho and northern part of Sokode, respectively.
