Nigerian national parks
- Gashaka-Gumti national park: The biggest national park in Nigeria that covers the landscape of 6,000sq.kms. It includes the highest number of wild animals, some of them belong to the endangered species. The dense forests and rivers in the national park are excellent for fishing. There is a forest reserve headquarter that keeps a strict watch on the poachers and also take care of the well-being of the animals. There is a rest house for the visitors near the headquarter, which is situated on the main road of Mambila plateau and Bali.
- The Kainji national park: This park is located in the Kwara state of Nigeria and was constructed in the year 1979. The Kainiji national park includes two animal reserves, namely, Zurugama and Borgu. Both the reserves cover a wide variety of animals in a big number. It is an adventure for the tourists to visit the national park. It covers a landscape of 5,299sq.kms. There is Kainiji dam in this park, which is an additional attraction.
- Cross river national park: This park is famous among the tourists in all around the world as it is among the few last rain forests of the world. A large number of tourists come to visit the park. The animals like gorillas, leopards, white-faced monkeys, wild buffaloes and elephants are found in large number in this park.
The main aim of the Nigeria national parks is protection and preservation of the endangered species and the wildlife of Nigeria, as a whole.
