Morocco Capital

Morocco is a country situated in the Northern Africa. The Morocco Capital is Rabat. Rabat has a mixture of traditional and international community. About one million people are residing in the city of Rabat. According to the estimate carried out in 2007 the population of Morocco Capital is calculated to be 1.7 million.

The history of Rabat dates back to the period when Chellah settlement came into existence at around 3rd century B.C. Then it settled on the banks of Qued Bou Regreg. After the country of Morocco got independence in the year 1956, the then King of Morocco, Mohammed V made Rabat the capital of the country.

The city of Rabat is very clean and also it is a very beautiful place. There are many places of attractions in the city .The Royal Palace in Rabat is an important landmark of Rabat. The Royal Palace is situated in the center of the city. Across the Royal Palace in Rabat, there is the Royal Mosque offering a very good example of the Islamic structure. The city has many good hotels with moderate price range in most of the hotels.

Another Important place in Rabat is Chellah. The old gate of Chellah is about 800 years old and is a tourist place. In Rabat, there is a tranquil park which is situated beside the hotel Hilton. The city tour can be either done in taxis or by bus. The modern Rabat is very beautiful to look at with clean roads and tall buildings. The nightlife of Rabat is also young and is enjoyed by both the foreigners and the Moroccans.
