Utsunomiya is a Japanese city that is situated in the prefecture of Tochigi .
Utsunomiya is also the
capital city of this
prefecture or administrative district of
Japan. Located in the middle of Honshu which is one of the major islands of
Japan, Utsunomiya is also a popular
city in this country.
Utsunomiya is particularly well known as a travel destination and is also famous for its Tobacco
industry.
Utsunomiya was founded on 1 st April 1986. Very recently is has expanded its borders by including two towns from the district of Kawachi on 31 st March, this year. Utsunomiya has an area of about three hundred and thirteen square kilometers and a high population and density. The city of Utsunomiya is home to a number of industries as well as several well known manufacturing companies. Some of these industries and companies in Utsunomiya are, Canon Optical Manufacturing Plant, Japan Tobacco Plant, Honda manufacturing and designing center and so on. All these industries and companies are located in a particular area of Utsunomiya known as the Kiyohara Industrial Park.
Utsunomiya is famous for its different types of mouthwatering dumplings and a number of good quality bars. In this city there are several travel destinations also. The Hachimaniyama park is one of the prime attractions in this city. Another amusement park is Romantic Mura which has a good restaurant, bar and an interesting flower and orchid demonstration place. Utsunomiya has also got a huge shopping mall to satisfy the shopping urges of the travelers. This shopping mall, known as the Bell Mall is the largest in the northern region of Kanto.
Utsunomiya provides a good
transportation system with lots of train and bus availability. There are four major train service providers in this city and lots of buses.
