Narita

Narita , a Japanese city , is famous for its Narita-san Sinho temple
where numerous tourists visit everyday. The other reason why the name Narita is well known among foreigners and tourists is because it is home to one of the major international airports of Japan . As this city in Chiba is very near to Tokyo, the airport serves most of the region in the outskirts of Tokyo. Narita got the status of a city in 1954 and the main expansion and development of the city was because of the Narita International Airport . Due to the steady rise in population the city is expanding constantly and a new town in vicinity to central Narita was planned.

The central part of the city of Narita consists of the Keisei Narita station and Narita-san Temple. The local residents call central Narita ‘Machinaka'. Narita –san temple is a famous travel destination located in the heart of the city. This 1000 years old Buddhist temple consists of some exquisite and ancient architectures and art of Japan. Shiseki Park and Chiba Prefectural Boso Fudoki-no-oka Museum are the other two tourist destinations in Narita. Museum of Aeronautical Science and Sanrizuko Goryo Ranch Memorial Hall are very popular with the visitors. To get a view of the Narita International airport a visit to the small cherry tree adorned park called the Sakura-no-Yama Hill can be traveled. Narita also has reputation of being the town of eels as there are a number of restaurants serving delicacies made with this fish. There are numerous colorful festivals and celebrations which keep the city vibrant all through the year. You can plan a trip to Narita during the festival of Setsubun, the Ume festival and the Narita Gion festival.
