Finland Travel

The Republic of Finland is a member of the European Union or EU. Finland travel requirements are in consonance with European Union or EU directives.

Finland is a northern European country. Helsinki is the capital city of Finland. Finland travel by air generally requires the traveler to alight at Helsinki. The excellent airline connections between Helsinki and other parts of the world mean a minimum hassle of travel to Finland. The principal airport of Helsinki is the Helsinki-Vantaa Airport. Finland travel usually involves changing planes at the airport for going to other destinations inside Finland. Finnair is the national carrier of the Republic of Finland. More than 30 airline companies service Helsinki-Vantaa Airport.

Travel to Finland may also be accomplished by train travel. There are direct railway links between Helsinki and the Russian metropolises of Moscow and St. Petersburg. Finland has no direct railway service between the countries of Sweden and Norway. This is due to the incompatibility of the railway track lines. However, a single railway ticket like Eurail may be purchased at any country in Europe for seamless railway transport to Finland. Boat may be also used as a mode for reaching Finland. Regular boat services exist between Finland and Sweden and between Finland and Estonia.
