Capital of Panama that is Panama City is located near the entrance of the Pacific Ocean to the Panama Canal on the Gulf of Panama. Panama City being located at the intersection of 8°58' North and 79°32' West, has immense importance as it is bounded by water.
Traditionally the city was also known as Panama Viejo. Panama has been an Indian fishing village. Hence the name Panama came, which means "many fish." Panama Capital was found by the Governor Pedro Arias Davila in the year 1519.

Capital of the Republic of Panama is a cosmopolitan city, as multi ethnicity exists in Panama. Capital of Panama is the political, administrative as well as cultural center of the country. Because of the beautiful flora and fauna, Panama City attracts tourists from all over the world. As a matter of fact, it is a great place for the nature lovers.

Capital of Panama has always been a great attraction for the immigrants also. People from China, Middle East Countries, Switzerland, Yugoslavia and North America. The city is decorated with high rises, beautiful roads and great architecture. However the growth of the city is restricted to a narrow strip of land between the sea and the border of United States of America.
