Palestine Mountains



There are quite a number of mountains in Palestine. The Palestine Mountains extend in the direction of North West dimension. The Palestine Mountains form the major topography of the region. The mountains of Palestine constitute 75 percentage of the total region.

The mountains in Palestine start from the border of Lebanon and expand up to north of the Negev desert in the southern side. The chief mountains of Palestine are The Lebanon and the Hermon.

Other mountains of Palestine are Mid- Mountains and Negev mountains and the Jalil mountains to the northern side. The Jalil Mountains extend from the Lebanese borders in the north to Marj Ben Amer Plain to the southern side and also from the western coast to the El-Hoola plain in the eastern side.

The Jalil Mountains contains the following mountain ranges:
  • El-Jarmaaq
  • Hiider mountains
  • Canaan Mountains
  • Aroos Mountains
The low Jalile Mountains comprise of the mountain chains of Ei-shaaghoor and also the Sabakh heights. Other mountain assortments of Palestine are the Nablous and El-Karmel Mountains. The Nablous Mountain alliance consists of many valleys and also plains.

The Jerusalem and the Hebron Mountain chain lengthen from plain of El-laabaan in the northern side of Biir sabaa and from the coastal plain in the western side to the Dead Sea in the eastern side. It is inclined towards the west. Another mountain of Palestine is the Hebron Mountain which having the height of 900 meter above the sea level.
