Brazil Weather


Brazil Weather varies area wise, on the basis of latitude, longitude and altitudes. The country is marked by diverse climatic zones, ranging from dry heat, high humidity to pleasant cool conditions.

Brazil Weather involves five distinct regions, namely the equatorial, tropical, highland tropical, subtropical and semiarid regions. The overall Brazil Weather is tropical in nature, though some parts of the country come under the temperate zones. About 90 percent of the mainland areas to the north experience tropical climatic features including São Paulo and the Amazonian regions. The annual average temperature in these regions remains between 17°C (63° F) and 29°C (84° F), offering a pleasant feel to the inhabitants.

Brazil Weather in the temperate regions is devoid of extremities. The summer temperature rises upto 40°C maximum. Cities under this climatic zone like Belo Horizonte, Brasília, Rio de Janeiro, Recife, São Paulo and Salvador experience the normal temperature varying between 15°C to 30°C, despite located on low latitudes.

Brazil Weather along the equator is relatively high than other areas. Here, the average daily temperature remains above 25°C without reaching extreme conditions. Rainfall occurring in this region causes slight differences in the overall temperature, with occasional frosts and snowfall in some areas. Precipitation levels undergo wide variation. The southern regions experiences moderate rainfall between 1,000 to1,500 millimeters annually, from December to April.

Brazil Weather towards the north-eastern part is semi-arid in nature. Here, rainfall is scanty and severe cyclic droughts affect normal living all round the year. As the hottest part of the country, its average temperature rises to 38°C and even more between May and November.

These distinct variations prevailing in Brazil Weather, ranging from normal to extreme, affect the daily lives of the inhabitants to a large extent.
