Brasilia has earned fame in the international arena because of its establishment of the principles in the Athens Charter in 1933. UNESCO has enlisted Brasilia as a World Heritage Site.

TheCapital of Brazil houses the President, who resides in the Palácio do Planalto. The Brazilian Supreme Court and the Brazilian Parliament work from theCapital of Brazil. Brasilia is positioned in the Federal District which is bordered by the Brazilian state of Goiás. TheCapital of Brazil is not considered as a traditional municipality by the law of Brazil.

The construction of theCapital of Brazil initiated in the year of 1956. Lúcio Costa started operating as the prime urban planner whereas Oscar Niemeyer took the responsibility as the lead architect. Formally, Brasilia was announced as theCapital of Brazil in 1960.
