Cities in Arkansas
Arkansas, the 29th largest state of the United States, comprises 502 municipalities which have cities and towns. Little Rock is the capital of Arkansas as well as the largest city of the state. Covering an area of approximately 121 square miles, Little Rock is home to 198,541 inhabitants, as of 2016. Apart from Little Rock, there are seven other cities in the state which have a population of more than 50,000 people. These are: Fort Smith, Fayetteville, Springdale, Jonesboro. North Little Rock, Conway, and Rogers. Amagon and Sherrill are the smallest towns in terms of population. Both towns have a population of 98 and 84 inhabitants, respectively. Georgetown, which is located in White County, is the oldest continuously settled area in the state. Georgetown was founded in 1789 and incorporated in 1986.
