Birth of Zimbabwe Newspapers date back to June 1891, when the Mashonaland and Zambesian Times was launched. It was a hand written paper, which could come out with truth pretty boldly. By October 20, 1892, The Rhodesia Herald came in the place of Mashonaland and Zambesian Times as the country's major daily newspaper. Later it was renamed as The Herald and it still continued to be the oldest and biggest daily newspaper in Zimbabwe. Thus it had a big hand in covering Zimbabwe News.
