Nicaragua People in western Nicaragua belong to the mixed culture of Indian and European origin. In the eastern part of the country the population has high percentage of Indian and black African descendants. Nicaragua has long been isolated from the other parts and it had a great influence of Great Britain .These two factors have resulted in the contribution to the tribal frame of the country. The population of Nicaragua has increased rapidly since 1950.This was due to the decline in the morality and the decrease in the high fertility rate. The country started developing fast after 1993.Most of the shanty towns of the city are now developed larger cities. Presently more than 55% of the population lives in the urban areas. The urban population has grown faster due to the large scale of internal migration. The rural population has grown at a slower rate than urban population.
Leon is the second largest city in Nicaragua. Population is quiet high in Matagalpa, Granada and Masaya. Bluefields and Puerto Cabezas though smaller have large population. Large part of the population is white or mestizo. Nicaraguans are sometimes called Monimbó in Masaya, Matagalpan Indians in central highlands and Subtiava in León. The Miskito which is a combination of Indian-Afro- European group forms the largest tribal group. Sumu, Rama and Creoles are the other smaller groups.
Nicaragua People are fun loving and creative people.
