Beginning her acting career at the mere age of 17,
Lída Baarová was a student of the Prague Conservatory. Known for her heavenly beauty, Lída Baarová was the heart throb of many. After inaugurating her career in Czechoslovakia, Lída Baarová was noticed by the talent scouts of the German movies and thus she moved to Berlin.
German movies and Berlin changed her life and fate forever. Lída Baarová was engaged to Gustav Fröhlich and very near their house in Berlin lived Joseph Goebbels, who was a minister in Hitlers administration. Intimacy and a love affair with Joseph Gobbles resulted in the break up of Gustav Fröhlich and Lída Baarová. The years that followed brought only turmoil for Lída Baarová. Although she continued with her acting career her personal life was in shatters as she had to leave Germany and Joseph Gobbles at the order of Hitler. Later after the second World war she was imprisoned by the Czechoslovakian police for working with the Germans. Thus her life became a tragic episode. In the year 1970 she went on to marry Kurt Lundwall, a physician. Finally, Lída Baarová died heart broken at the age of 86.
