Ivan Diviš is one of the most well known poets of the country. Born in the year 1924 in the capital city of Prague, Ivan Diviš is known to be a significant contributor to the global arena of poetry and essays. The son of a bank officer, Ivan Diviš was arrested during the second World war, at a very young age. He worked for some time at a book store and later went on to study aesthetics and philosophy at Charles University. After completing his education, Ivan Diviš worked at a newspaper called the Communist Rudé právo and later became an editor at a publishing house called the Mladá front. In the year 1969 Ivan Diviš migrated to Germany where he worked for Radio free Europe. There are a number of celebrated works of
