Ivan Divis



A store house of culture, Czech Republic is a home to many literary personalities and Ivan Diviš is one of the most well known poets of the country. Born in the year 1924 in the capital city of Prague, Ivan Diviš is known to be a significant contributor to the global arena of poetry and essays. The son of a bank officer, Ivan Diviš was arrested during the second World war, at a very young age. He worked for some time at a book store and later went on to study aesthetics and philosophy at Charles University. After completing his education, Ivan Diviš worked at a newspaper called the Communist Rudé právo and later became an editor at a publishing house called the Mladá front. In the year 1969 Ivan Diviš migrated to Germany where he worked for Radio free Europe. There are a number of celebrated works of Ivan Diviš, these include:
