Bifurcated into the upper and lower house, the parliament of the Czech Republic elects 81 members to the Senate for a span of six years and 200 members to the Chamber of Deputies for a four year long term. The interesting fact involving the proportional representation in the Chamber of Deputies elections are the 5% election threshold while the Senate elections based on two grueling rounds of voting involves the renewal of one third of the total number of seats during ever alternate even year.
