The Policia Federal is the federal police force of Brazil whose main assignments are: the investigation against several types of crimes against the government, or its organs and companies. The Brazilian Police Department was established in November16, 1964, headed by Paulo Fernando Lacerda.

Sao Paulo Authorities have arrested 10 Brazilians accused of luring South American women to Spain and forcing them into prostitution. Those arrested included a mother and daughter team and an attorney team that recruited women from Columbia, Paraguay, and Brazil. The ring promised women well-paid jobs in Spain, where their passports were taken and they were forced to prostitute themselves.

Brazil police according to the BBC news at present are literally under fire, and they have taken to the streets to vent their rage.



Brazilian Police have reportedly broken up a logging ring whose members are suspected of using fake permits to fell a half million trees in the Amazon Rain Forest. Brazil Police have broken up several illegal logging rings in the past two years, winning praise from environmentalists.
