The diverse Vietnam – culture is a result of the co-existence of several ethnic groups such as Kinh, Nun, Thai, Muong, Hoa, Khome, Hmong, Tay etc. The culture shows that these people are very polite. Though they speak different languages like Vietnamese, English, French, Khmer; follow different religion like Buddhism. Confucianism, Catholicism, Protestantism and practice different rituals they are Vietnamese first.
Vietnam – culture include the food habit of the people who are mainly vegetarians. They love to eat cuisine cooked with a number of ingredients. They like to wear thin, light dresses. Their houses are built in a method and with materials such as bamboo, clay, wood that maintains a perfect harmony with the surrounding nature.
Ceremonies like marriage and funeral are important part of the culture of Vietnam. Now a days birthdays are also observed. The most crucial part of the society is the family structure. The patriarchal joint families have four generations living together. The men handle the external affairs while the women do the household works.
People of Vietnam love to celebrate different events. Music and dance is an integral part of their life
Though the culture in Vietnam is quite rich, the people are modest and lead a simple life. There are many instruments like Tron Dong, Dan Da etc. The main performing arts are Tuong and Cheo.
