United Arab Emirates Culture has significant resemblance with its neighboring Arab countries and the larger Arab culture. Modernization of Culture of United Arab Emirates has occurred after the discovery of oil mines in the country in the year of 1960. Prior to 1960, the society and culture in United Arab Emirates were much rigid. Post 1960, as small mud walled towns started developing as cities and towns with high rises, culture became a little modern. However the people of the country have still held the United Arab Emirates Tradition.
United Arab Emirates Culture includes entertainment, art, architecture, music, dance, festivals, rituals and a lot more. Traditional art architecture is found in the heritage buildings, forts and mosques while modern architecture makes the skyscrapers. Culture also includes the popular folk music as well as the modern music and dance, both of which attract tourists from far and wide. Some of the very popular dance forms of United Arab Emirates are Ayyalah, Harbiya, Mated, Liwa and Haban.
The most important festivals in UAE are the Eid Al Fitr, Al Isra Wal Miaraj, Islamic New Year on 22nd of February, Dubai Shopping Festival and a lot more. Dubai is known as the shoppers’ paradise and the local people as well as the tourists from all over the world enjoy shopping in the city. This has been a part of the United Arab Emirates Culture for several decades now.
