The number of Somali refugees skyrocket into looming figures, every time there is a massive conflict in the country. The countries chosen by the Somali refugees are Kenya, Yemen, Djibouti and Ethiopia. With such a multitude of Somali refugees huddled in refugee camps, it is not unlikely to find instances of food poisoning, spread of food borne, water borne and air borne diseases. The spread of epidemics in the places occupied by the Somali refugees is not uncommon. The statistics reveal that the Somali refugees have a majority of Somali women and children along with young boys, who were more intimated by the the political and horrific situations prevalent in the country.
Condition of Somali Refugees
The already existing Somali refugees in the countries where they seek refuge, get pushed more to the interiors as fresh batches of Somali refugees keep arriving in those lands. The condition gets quite dire for the women and children who are subject to all sorts of maltreatments by strangers. There are UN and other international refugee agencies who provide aid and guidance to all Somali refugees.
The history of Somalia is a witness to the number of wars, clashes, strifes and conflicts the people had been exposed to, which resulted in the movement of Somali refugees into the neighboring countries.
