Hiiraan is one of the notable Somalia regions that has an area of some 34,000 square kilometers, the climate of Hiiraan is basically dry and arid as the yearly rate of rainfall is pretty low.

The one and only river that is permanent in the country is the River Shabelle that Hiiraan region considers to be of utmost importance. Its worth cannot be ignored at all as, primarily all the agricultural lands of Hiiraan is present along the banks of this river. Farmers of Hiiraan have to face a lot of adversities when its comes to farming as the country is severely torn by civil strifes and its repercussions. On top of that the unpredictable climate of Hiiraan is a massive problem for the farmers.

Hiiraan University

This university in Hiiraan has foundation course programs that are aimed at strengthening the base of graduates of secondary schools. The Hiiraan University lays emphasis on the English language and Science subjects. It is present in the strategic location of Hiiraan’s capital, which is Beledweyne.

Hiiraan Public Library

The first library in Hiiraan was set up in 1999. The library had books, which were donated by schools in Birmingham.
