History of Saudi Arabia

The study of history of Saudi Arabia reveals the fact that Arabs were the first inhabitants of the Arabian Peninsula. During this era, the European ice cap melted there by converting the lush green lands into sandy deserts. The climate of the region became dry and hot.

According to the recorded history of Saudi Arabia, it was once one of the largest trade centers in the world. People from Mesopotamia and Nile River Valley thronged its market to sell their agricultural products such as dates, almonds, spices, aromatics such as myrrh and frankincense.

The turning point in the Saudi Arabia history came in the form of the introduction of Islam. In the year 610, the second largest religious group in the world was introduced by Prophet Muhammad.

As per the history of Saudi Arabia, the first Saudi state was formed in the early 18th century. By the end of 18th century, their rule spread over almost whole of Arabian Peninsula. The second Saudi state was set up in the year 1824 after the Saudi king Turki bin Abdullah Al-Saud shifted his capital to Riyadh.

One of the most historical events in Saudi Arabia was the establishment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the year 1932 by King Abdulaziz. He took the initiative of building the infrastructure of the dry desert country so as to transform it into a modern nation.
