The capital of Rwanda is Kigali. Rwanda capital Kigali is the center of all its commercial trades and other businesses. Rwanda capital is located in the center of the country.
In the year 1906 the first governor of Rwanda Mr. Richard Kandt chose Kigali as the capital city of Rwanda because of its location in the center of the country. The Rwanda capital Kigali has latitude of 1º 57’S and longitude of 30º 04’ E. Kigali is surrounded by two hills called Jali and Kigali. Apart from being the capital city of Rwanda Kigali has been the center for the commercial activities also. Rwanda is yet to get its elected mayor so it is being administered by Ndiyasiba Fidel, Executive Secretary of the city.
The population of Rwanda capital is 603,049. After the genocide of 1994 many people preferred to return to Kigali for security reasons and it resulted in high rise of the population. According to a survey 51% of heads of houses are men, women comprise a 44% and 5% are children. The increasing population of Kigali is leaving its impact on the economic aspect also. People of Rwanda are contributing their best to make the city modernized but it will take a long time to call it a modernized city.
Most of the inhabitants of Kigali are not that educated, hence can not contribute much of their productivity in economic areas. But there are some schools in Kigali of nursery, primary and secondary levels where children are being sent to. Apart from this there are not many job opportunities in Kigali because of which citizens are forced to indulge in criminal activities. The city lacks infrastructure and facilities also. There are not good hospitals, water facilities, rail transport and adequate power supply.
