In the year 1842 the Flag of Paraguay was adopted. The Flag of Paraguay is unique among the national flags as there are different emblems on the frontage and the reverse sides of the flag.
The national flag of Paraguay has three equal horizontal bands of red blue and white and bands. The red band is on the top of the flag, the white band is in the center of the flag with an emblem and the blue band comes after the white band.
The middle part of the frontage and the reverse sides of the flag are portrayed by the Paraguay "state coat of arms" and Paraguay "Treasury Seal" respectively. The "state coat of arms" in the Paraguay flag is depicted by a yellow five-pointed star within a green wreath capped by the words REPUBLICA DEL PARAGUAY, within two circles.
The reverse side of the Paraguay flag has the "Treasury Seal" which is denoted by a yellow lion below a red Cap of Liberty and the words Paz y Justicia are capped by the words REPUBLIC DEL PARAGUAY and all the matter is within two circles.
The color format of the Paraguay national flag was motivated from the "tri color" perception of France. The red color indicates bravery and nationalism, blue color stands for generosity and liberation and the white color denotes peace and integrity.
