Frankfort is the capital of the U.S state of Kentucky. Gen. James Wilkinson who purchased this land in 1786 later came to known as the father of Frankfort. In 1792, Frankfort was chosen as the Kentucky’s seat of government. The city, which grew considerably in 1960s with many high rising buildings, is now the county seat of Franklin County.
